Milwaukee is located in southeastern Wisconsin, about 90 minutes from Chicago, IL and Madison, WI. Milwaukee is the largest city in the state of Wisconsin, and the 31st largest city in the United States. The Milwaukee metropolitan area is comprised of approximately 2.2 million people. Milwaukee also has a large number of financial service firms, particularly those specializing in mutual funds and transaction processing systems, and a number of publishing and printing companies. Milwaukee is the home to the international headquarters of 5 Fortune 500 companies: Johnson Controls, Northwestern Mutual, Manpower, Rockwell Automation and Harley-Davidson Service and managerial jobs are the fastest-growing segments of the Milwaukee economy, and health care alone makes up 27% the jobs in the city.
Milwaukee is on the shores of Lake Michigan, the fifth largest lake in the world where Summerfest, the world’s largest music festival and many ethnic festivals take place throughout the summer. Milwaukee is a popular venue for Lake Michigan sailing, windsurfing, kite-surfing, ethnic dining, and cultural festivals. Often referred to as the City of Festivals, Milwaukee has various cultural events which take place throughout the summer at Maier Festival Park, on the lake. There is something for everyone in Milwaukee; you can experience old world charm, diverse cultures, historic neighborhoods and it’s a great place to raise a family.
