NX Level Athletics, a Waukesha-based, nationally known athletic performance enhancement company, will manage a state-of-the-art sports performance and training facility in the new Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin Mequon Health Center.
Slated to open in October, the Mequon Health Center, 11430 N. Port Washington Rd., includes a dedicated 15,000-square-foot space for performance training in sports of all kinds. NX Level will offer programs for people of all ages who want to improve their athletic ability. The programs are designed to help teams, groups and individuals develop speed, flexibility, strength, endurance, nutrition, body composition and awareness in any sport, whether it’s golf, weight training, gymnastics, football, baseball, track, soccer or others. Working with schools, including training for high school sports combines, is one of NX Level’s specialties.
“We want to build on the highly successful sports performance programs that have long been offered through the Froedtert & MCW Sports Medicine Centers, and it just makes sense to bring in an experienced partner to help us manage this new, expanded offering,” said Julie Kerk, vice president, musculoskeletal, neurosciences and spine service lines for the Froedtert & MCW health network. “NX Level has the expertise, knowledge and reputation to help us put it together. They are well-known for their work with athletes and we were impressed by their holistic approach to sports performance and training. Education, training, and injury prevention are part of our mission as an academic medical center. They are a great fit for us.”
The Mequon Health Center’s spacious training facility is equipped with synthetic field turf, a sand pit, and cardio workout, stretching and weight lifting areas. Schools and community teams will be able to rent the space.
“We’re excited to collaborate with the Froedtert MCW team and can’t wait to bring NX Level to Mequon,” said Brad Arnett, NL Level owner. “Our customized training approach helps all populations become more athletic, build their bodies, increase speed, enhance cardiovascular health, avoid injury, improve self-confidence and develop a lifelong work ethic.” He noted that more than 300 athletes who have trained at NX Level’s Waukesha County facility have gone on to play at collegiate and professional levels.
NX Level will work in association with the health network and manage the training facility separately. Training appointments will be made directly with NX Level.
Consistent with the NX Level relationship, the Mequon Health Center will emphasize sports medicine, orthopedics, and spine care, including chiropractic, pain management, surgical consults, and physical therapy. An orthopedic surgeon and physicians specializing in sports medicine and orthopedics will be on site. The health center also will feature Ortho Now, a walk-in clinic for acute orthopedic injuries.
In addition, the Mequon Health Center will offer primary care and urgent care with extended hours, women’s health and obstetrics/gynecology services. Other specialty services will include endocrinology, physical, occupation and speech therapy and podiatry. Screening mammography as well as other imaging services and laboratory services will also be offered.
