Why I chose MCW

As a medical studentI knew I wanted specialize in Pediatric Orthopaedics. I chose MCW  because the program has an excellent pediatric experience. The Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin is a large tertiary care referral center with 5 Pediatric Orthopaedic Faculty and no Pediatric Orthopaedic fellows.  Residents rotate in the Peds Ortho department in their 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 5th years, providing graduated and continuous learning experience. In addition, residents are given two elective rotations which have allowed me to gain even more pediatric training.  I recently matched into my pediatric fellowship of choice and I feel that the connections of the staff and the excellent traning went a long way toward securing this fellowship.

What MCW has to offer to a Candidate

MCW offers an excellent operative experience, complete coverage of all of the subspecialties including  Oncology without travel to other programs, research opportunities, and a collegial environment.

What I like about living in Milwaukee

Milwaukee was recently rated the #7 most exciting place to live and offers an abundance of   entertainment including a thriving music and art scene. As a dog owner I  also appreciate that Milwaukee is a very dog firendly city. I like living in Milwaukee  for these reasons and because of the reasonable housing prices!
